OK I have to try and re write everything I just wrote because my login time expired and I just lost everything I had written so this is take 2.
The last several weeks have been insanely busy. However the 3rd of July party as always (18th annual) was a blast. I have to say my boy was amazing! It was a long day and he handled it so great, I couldn’t have been prouder. Especially once the fireworks started going off. After the days first early random firework was sent off and after the initial shock of hearing such an ominous BANG! We all waited with held breaths to see how he would react. To our astonishment he barely reacted at all, other then a slight flinch and a slightly puzzled look. What surprised us even more was the almost total nervous break down of a 3-4 year old girl at the shock and surprise of hearing the thunderous clap of the illegal but extremely entertaining 4th of July fun fare. This would be a re-occurring theme through out the day. A random but amusing explosion and a 4 year old Brat crying like her parents and everything she loved in the world was instantly taken away.
Just when I thought I couldn’t be more impressed with my boy he actually slept through half of the fireworks display and when he finally did awake, he didn’t freak out, he looked up to the sky with an open mouth and a look of bewilderment. That’s my boy alright!
I’m sure they do not read this but I wanted to take a second to congratulate the Lopassios on the birth of their beautiful baby girl. It’s amazing that I have only been a father for 5 fantastic months but I feel like I am years ahead of where they are now. Looking at pictures of when my boy was first born and how much he has grown in only 5 months. Then looking at pictures of their baby girl and knowing everything that is in store for them. I feel like I got a head start in a race and I know every obstacle they will have to hurtle since I have only just recently been where they are now.
This must have been the year of the babies. It's amazing to me how many little ones have entered the world this year including my own. I wish all of you new parents the best of luck. God knows we will all need it.
So For Now…Stay Safe, Love Life, and Be Happy
Jesse
